If you do, you will (like 95% of people that fail in network marketing) fall through this big hole in the floor into the rejection chute, because the “fear factor” is the biggest cause of failure in the MLM industry.
So what are these 3 big fears?
How do they stop us in our tracks?
It never ceases to amaze me that so many new recruits in the MLM industry come in with such a high level of excitement and optimism, and then immediately their “dream balloons” get deflated because of these same 3 fears.
And so few sponsors or leaders see the significance or appear to even want to help them with these. (Which makes no sense to me whatsoever, but just my opinion…or may well be the opinion of you and thousands of others).
There are a lot of recruiting challenges in today’s economy and world.
But by addressing these 3 fears you’ll become a rock star, and as a sponsor helping your own new recruits overcome them, you’ll will see your team grow exponentially!

The first thing you have to do to conquer a problem is “Define the Problem”
The definition of “Fear” is: Your emotional response to a situation that is happening or that you imagine might happen.
It’s really important to first stand back and realize that it’s a personal response. YOUR response!
In fact, you can take 2 people and put them in the exact same scenario or situation – Only 1 of them may experience fear…the other may not.
As I mentioned above in the fear of “Rejection” you (all of us really) have a primitive, prehistoric portion of our brain that takes over when we feel a fear, and pushes us toward a fight-or-flight triggered response.
So when you step back and look at it objectively, just realize that it’s an emotional response YOU have or are having.
You also have to acknowledge that most of the things we fear in everyday life either never actually happen or are not life-threatening to us at all.
The real problem here is: To our prehistoric brain this makes very little difference!
So, whether you’ve been asked to stand up in front of a big audience and speak, or you’re speaking with someone you don’t know, or you’re really actually doing something dangerous…it’s all the same to the prehistoric portion of your brain.
And herein lies The Solution!
Most of the fears we have are learned over time (in other words, we watch our parents and family members and/or our friends or people around us, or we hear scary stories of people experiencing scary situations or things happening to them).
Since fear is an emotional response, to reduce or eliminate your fear you’ve got to change the thoughts and feelings you associate with that fear(s).
Network marketing basically requires anyone that wants to succeed in the industry to get good at socializing with other people. At least it does in the offline world.
As I said above, the fears many of us have that are related to talking with other people – while at the same time trying to avoid rejection entirely – are what knock most people out of the MLM race from the very get-go.
“But it doesn’t have to be this way!”
If you’ve got any or all of these 3 biggest fears in offline recruiting (and a majority of people do – whether they say so or not), the first and biggest step you need to take is to reduce or remove the emotional tug that that fear has on you.
THAT’s what’s really holding you back.
Here are the 4 steps you can take to start eliminating or reducing these fears RIGHT NOW:
Your mind is constantly “on”. Even when you’re in the middle of a task or busily working, your mind is imagining future scenarios or replaying past events.
Like most people, your mind is more often than not thinking about the future and the past and spending very little energy or time focusing on the exact moment you are currently living.
This is why meditation is so relaxing to most people that use it.
In meditation exercises you are encouraged to focus only on the present moment, your surroundings, the sounds and objects around you only at the present moment.
Some questions and thought exercises you can use to try just about anytime wherever you are:
“Why am I thinking this?” or
“Why am I doing this to myself?”
“Is it helping me?”
“I don’t have to do this right now!”
Become aware of any fear feeling or anxieties you may be having about the runaway thoughts.
Another set of questions you can ask yourself are:
“What must I be thinking in order to feel like this?”
“What was I just thinking about before I started to feel nervous or uncomfortable?”
Once you have got used to interrupting your mind’s flow, you are ready to move to the next stage.
When a fear comes up or anxiety starts, ask these to yourself.
Follow these steps when you notice you are thinking about things incessantly or worrying about something:
1. Notice the thoughts you are having.
2. Stop yourself by bringing your attention back into the current moment – where you are and what you are doing.
3. Notice how your feet feel on the floor.
4. Notice what your arms feel like, your breathing and the noises that you can hear in the environment.
5. Focus as much as you can on the present moment that you are in and simply notice the negative thoughts that you are having and observe them without getting dragged into them, perhaps just saying something to yourself like:
“Oh, I don’t need to think about that right now.”
