Mistake #3: Running a lot of expensive ads that don’t work (offline or online)
Now, I have to be careful telling you this. This is NOT to say that running ads the right way won’t bring you success.
Rather what I’m talking about here is throwing down large amounts of money on ads you haven’t tested…all in the hopes of people reading/seeing them and being so inspired that they dial your number on their phone immediately.
I’ll once again hark back to my first days in network marketing in the early 1990’s.
Didn’t have the internet, so one of the “genius” ideas I had for building my early business was to buy expensive ads in newspapers and magazines in the hope cold leads would call me right away without delay.
(And yes, you heard me right…magazine ads, too. Not low-priced by any definition of low-priced)
I wasted a lot of hard-earned money back in my day just calling up newspapers around the area and having them place small classified ads for my network marketing opportunity.
Don’t Do This!
Just like with the business cards and flyers…this will never really work for you.
There is a right way to run ads and get the attention of potential leads for your network marketing opportunity…
Let me just say that throwing money at ads online and offline without initially testing them and planning out what function those ads need to have, is very similar to a gambling habit.
You will keep thinking,”If I just keep running ads, enough people will contact me or click through those ads and join my business to really make it take off.”
You’ll go broke with that mentality…I almost did.
The best way to run ads is to start out small. TEST the ad each time to see what response you get. And think about what the goal of the ad really is (to get a click-through? to get them to call you?)
Once you’ve determined the goal of the advertising you’d like to run, you’re off to a better start.
